The dominant Indian mystery box scam arrives on WhatsApp or Instagram, claims to be from Amazon or Flipkart directly, tells you that you have already won, and then asks you to either share the message with ten contacts to unlock the prize, or to log into a page that collects your Amazon password, or to pay a "release fee" through a personal UPI ID. Every one of those is a phishing pattern. Real brands do not run prize draws through forwarded WhatsApp messages, and no legitimate service ever needs your Amazon password.
